Their major marketing tag line in 2016 for HomeAway was "its your vacation why share it".
HomeAway has the advantage of allowing property owners to reach millions of renters world wide. The benefit to Home Away is that these property owners are paying to advertise their property on their website, this saves property owners agency /vacation management fees. The average savings for property owners is 10% per rental. Thus creating a symbiotic relationship between property owners and Home Away. HomeAway can easily continue to grow as their "business model has been surprisingly simplistic: growth and superiority through acquisition." HomeAway's revenues were over 500 million in 2015 and their current market valuation is almost $3 billion. HomeAway has a great opportunity to grow as it's estimated there are over 10 million additional vacation homes sitting vacant around the year. A continued threat to HomeAway would be if companies like AirBnB continue to make inroads into this market.
